Abstract

249,582. McKee, H. M., and-Clark & McKee, Ltd. Nov. 24, 1924. Addition to 230,141. Yarns and threads. - In fabrics containing hair yarns and also other animal or textile or vegetable yarns, as described in the parent Specification, the single hair yarns are replaced by variegated yarns formed by spinning hair with other material such as cotton, or by twisting hair yarns with other yarns. Thus. a standard twisted variegated yarn formed by twisting together standard twisted hair and cotton yarns a, d, Fig. 4, is followed in the warp by a similar variegated yarn with a reverse twist. Single cotton warp yarns e and wefts c are used. The variegated yarns may be amalgamated by twisting them together to form compound variegated yarns of standard or reverse twists. One of the Provisional Specifications describes the twisting together of one or more left twisted hairs, or hairs twisted with another material with one or more right twisted hairs &c., the resultant twist being right or left hand. It also refers to combination of these resultant twisted threads. It also refers to linen. The other Provisional Specification refers to the twisting of two or more yarns of the same twist into a compound yarn having a resultant opposite twist.
