Abstract

A bicycle child carrier with buffering structures is provided with two buffering portions 50 at two sides of the back portion 30 of the bicycle child carrier. When a bicycle equipped with the bicycle child carrier falls over on its side, the buffering portions 50 will hit the ground before other parts of the bicycle child carrier since the buffering portions 50 surround, and project beyond, the back portion 30 and the sitting chamber A, so as to produce a buffering effect to absorb the impact caused by the bicycle hitting the ground. The buffering structures may take the form of a flange projecting out and back, leaving a buffering space B with an included angle theta in the range of 20-60 degrees.

Description

BICYCLE CHILD CARRIER WITH BUFFERING STRUCTURES
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
[he present. invention relates to a bicycle child carrier, and more particularly to a bicycle child carrier with buffering structures.
Description of the Prior Art
As shown in Fig. 1, a conventional bicycle child carrier 10 is not provided with any ann protection structures at both sides thereof, so that, if the bicycle equipped with the bicycle child carrier 10 falls on its side, and the child normally puts his/her arms at both sides of the bicycle child carrier, the child's arnis will hit the ground and get hurt.
Moreover, since the bicycle child carrier 10 is not provided with any protection structures, when the bicycle falls on the ground, the impact force will he directly transmitted to the child, causing serious hurt..
IS The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-deserihed disadvantages.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary object oF the present invention is to provide a bicycle child carrier with buffering structures, which is capable of producing a buffering effect to protect the child siuing in the bicycle child carrier when the bicycle equipped with the child carrier falls on the ground.
To achieve the above object, a bicycle child carrier with buffering structures in accordance with present invent.ion comprises: a seat. portion, a back portion, a footrest portion, and two buffering portions at two sides of the hack portion. Dc back portion and the footrest portion arc located at two ends of the scat portion. An extension direction from the hack portion to the footrest portion is defined as a vertical direction, between the seat portion and the back portion is defined a sitting chamber, a direction toward the sitting chamber is defined as an inner side, and a direction opposite the inner direction is defined as an outer side. An extension direction two sides of the back portion is defined as a left-and-right direction which is perpendicular to the vertical direction, and an extension direction perpendicular to Lhe vertical direction and the Ic It-and-right direction is defined as a front-and-rear direction, the bicycle child carrier with buffering structures is characterized in that: Both sides of the hack portion each are formed with an are-shaped armrest.
portion, and the two armrest portions at both sides of the back portion are located a first distance from each other.
The buffering portions each extend along the left-and-right direction and the IS front-and-rear direction and towards the outer side, the hulfering portions are located a second distance away from each other, and the second dist.ance is larger than the first distance, the back portion and the sitt.ing chamber are surrounded by the hu ITering portions.
If the bicycle falls over on its side, the buffering portions will hit the ground hcfore other part.s of the bicycle child can-icr due to the fact that, the buffering portions surround the hack portion and the sitting chamber, and the second distance is larger than the first distance of the hack portion. Hence, the huffering gaps between free ends of the buffering portions and the back portion allow for n deformation of the buffering portions, thus producing a buffering effect to absorb thc impact caused by thc bicycle hitting thc ground.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF TIlE DRAWTNGS
Fig. 1 is an exploded view of a conventional bicycle child carrier; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a bicycle child carrier wit.h buffering structures in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 3 is a front. view of the bicycle child carrier with buffering structures in accordance with the present invention; Pig. 4 is a side view ol the bicycle child carrier with hullering structures in accordance with the present invention; and Fig. 5 is a cross sectional view of the bicycle child carrier with buffering structures in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
The present invention will be clearer from the following description when IS viewed together with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
Referring to Figs. 2-5, a bicycle child carrier with hullering structures in accordance with the present invention comprises: a seat portion 20, a back portion 30, a footrest portion 40, and two buffering portions 50 at two sides of the back portion 30. The back portion 30 and the footrest portion 40 are located at two ends of the seat portion 20. An extension direction from the hack portion 30 to the footrest portion 40 is defined as a vertical direction Dl. Between the seat portion 20 and the back portion 30 is defined a sitting chamber A. A direction toward the sitting chamber A is defined as an inner side, and a direction opposite the inner direction is delined as an outer side.
An extension direction two sides of the back port.ion 30 is defined as a left-and-right direction D2 which is perpendicular to the vertical direction Dl, and an extension direction perpendicular to the vertical direction Dl and the left-and-right direction D2 is defined as a front-and-rear direction D3.
Both sides of the hack portion 30 arc arc-shaped and are each formed with an armrest portion 31 which is also arc-shaped and extends Loward the footrest portion 40. The two armrest portions 31 at both sides of the back portion 30 are located a first distance LI from each other.
The buffering portions 50 each extend in the left-and-right direction D2 and the front-and-rear direction D3 and towards the outer side. The buffering portions 50 arc located a second distance L2 away from each other, and the second dist.ance L2 is IS larger than the first distance I. I. By such arrangements, the back portion 30 and the sitting chamber A are surrounded by the buffering portions 50. Each of the buffering portions 50 has a free end 51 which is located at an angk 0 ranging 20°-60° with respect to the back portion 30, so as t.o define a buffering gap B between the free end 51 of the buffering portions 50 and the back portion 30.
The bicycle child carrier is mounted on the rear of a bicycle for a child to sit in the sitting chamber A, and the child is restricted within the first distance I,! of the hack portion 30. If the bicycle falls over on its side, the buffering portions 50 will hit the ground before other parts of the bicycle child carrier due to the fact that the buffering portions 50 surround the hack portion 30 and the sitting chamber A, and the second distance L2 is larger than the first distance LI of the back portion 30.
Hence, the buffering gaps B between free ends 51 of the hullering portions 50 and the hack portion 30 allow for deformation of the buffering portions 50, thus producing a buffering effect to absorb the impact caused by the bicycle hitting the ground.
In general, when the bicycle falls over, the buffering portions 50 can protect the child from getting hurt by absorbing the impact caused by the bicycle hitting the ground.
While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it is clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may he made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
