Abstract

An adapter device which when connected with a moka coffee machine allows the use of coffee or tea capsules. The adapter comprises main body parts 7 and 8, shown in the open position ready to accept a capsule. In use, the capsule 15 is inserted in the opening 16 and the handle (9) is lifted to close the adapter. During the closing movement the blade (3) cuts the capsule on the bottom and the filter (10) with its sharp edges creates small holes at the top of the capsule.

Adapter device for espresso coffee machines that allows the use of single cup-serving capsules This adapter device connected with a common moka coffee machine, allows the use of single cup-serving coffe or tea capsules.

When we using a regular moka coffee machines is necessary to fill it with ground coffee, however this is a repetitive and boring task, this adapter coupled with a moka coffee machine makes the operation of re-charging or cleaning the mocha quick and easy because it allows to use commercial capsule instead of the ground coffee.

This means that this invention not only makes easy re-filling and cleaning the coffee machine but allows the use of a large variety of commercial coffee capsules that were not accessible without the use of specific and more expensive electrics dedicates coffee machines.

Figure 2 shows the invention fitted with a common moka espresso machine.

Figure 3 shows the invention fitted with a common moka espresso machine in the "open" position.

In Fig 1 the exploded view show all the oomponent of the adapter: There are two main bodies (7) and (8) flowing into eaoh other through a lever meohanism (6) that is oonneoted to a handle(9) The oup (3) it's oonneoted at the support (2), support (2) it' also conneoted at the main body (7). Cap (3) contain the capsule of coffee and a blade mechanism (4) that cut and open the capsule.

Fig 2 show the adapter fitted whit a moka espresso machine, to use this adapter (13) is necessary to screw the boiler part of moka (2) and the upper part of moka (14) how show.

The capsule (15) should be inserted in the opening(16) then to close the adapter it's necessary lift the handle(9) . The handle(9) moves the double lever mechanism (6), this lever slides into the groove cut into the main body(8) and make it the closing movement show in Fig4.

In Fig 4 the adapter device it's close, the coffee capsule is enclosed within the pressure chamber(3) and (10).

During the closing movement the blade (3) cuts the coffee capsule(15) on the bottom and the filter(10) with his sharp edges creates dozens of small holes at the top of the capsule.

The boiling water under pressure in the boiler(12) enters and arrives through an axial tube(S) in the capsule chamber where it impregnates and flow through the hole made by blades(4) in the coffee powder of capsule forming in this infusion chamber the coffee infusion, which then rises under pressure through the filter (10) and the chimney conduit from which it spills into the upper vessel(14).

1. Claims 1. An adapter device, that connected on standard moka coffee pot, enables the use of commercial single cup-serving capsules using the steam pressure generated by moka and channeling it into his internal infusion chamber to make a espresso coffee.
