Abstract

249,025. Anderson & Sons, Ltd., R., and Young, E. T. Sept. 16, 1925. Models with characteristic movements.- Apparatus for displaying sports balls, golf clubs, hockey sticks, &c. comprises a club &c. 9 which strikes a ball 8 along a surface 6 till it drops through an orifice, and, running back down a chute, is returned to a position in front of the club 9 for repetition of the process. The club &c. 9 is pivoted to a post 11 and has an extension 29 acted upon by a spring 31 and controlled by a constantly rotating cam 28 which withdraws the club, holds it back, and then allows the spring 31 to move it forward suddenly to strike the ball. The ball 8, after drop ing through the orifice in the surface 6, returns by the chute 14 and lands on a lifting lever 17 at the bottom of a slotted cylindrical guide 21. A pin 27 on the cam 28 actuates the lever 17 to raise the ball 8 to the top of the guide 21, where a cut-away edge allows the ball to roll down a guideway to a recess in front of the club.
