Abstract
A steam wallpaper adhesive dissolver comprises an attachment for a steam generator, in which the holes 1 for escaping steam are located along a top edge 6 so that, in use, once the wallpaper has begun to peel slightly from the wall, the user is able to direct the steam directly at the adhesive and so removing the need for the steam to soak through the wallpaper before being able to act upon the adhesive. The device is fitted with handles 8, 9, in which are set buttons 2, 4 to control the flow of steam from the device. The attachment is connected to the steam generator via a threaded pipe 5.
Description
1 Description
This invention relates to an adheshive dissolver, primarily designed to aide in the removal of wallpaper, which works by directing steam directly toward the adheshive rather than having to soak throngh the wallpaper first.
There are many steam generators on the market for softeiiing wallpaper to facilitate its removal from walls, bnt they all have the disadvantage that they are designed to act on the ontside of the wallpaper. This is a very irritating disadvantage and takes so long to he affective that several people have issued prior art to affix various attachments to walls to save users straining their arms.
The object of this invention is to apply the steam directly to the adhesive and conseqnently remove the whole paper very quickly and in whole pieces leaving very little mess.
To illustrate this concept I have inclnded an example design in fignre 1. The holes (1) are located along the top edge so that once the wallpaper has begnn to peel slightly from the application of steam in the general direction of the paper seam additional steam will dissolve the adhesive directly. There is a bntton (2), which can be locked on with a second bntton (4), both of which are resessed inside thumb groves (10), to control whether steam is being released (this allows for the steani to potentially be released under pressure).
The ergonomically designed handles (8) and (9) are intended to he sufficiently far apart that a standard roll of wall paper would fit easily between them.
This allows for the wallpaper to he removed in whole strips. Steairi would be provided, from a generator, through a pipe attached to a threaded pipe (5).
It is invisigned that the attahcement would be moulded in one piece from heat resistant plastic or else the handles would each be moulded from heat resistant plastic with the connecting pieces (6) and (7) made out of a water-resistant metal such as aluminium.
