C, the rod a and the drop boxes A is mounted on a short shaft &c. b driven by change gearing B<1>, E, D<1> including a compound change wheel E whereby the speed of the shaft &c. b, relative to the speed of the loom, may be varied. The number of consecutive picks inserted by each shuttle can thus be varied. According to the Provisional Specification, carrier wheels are employed, which are carried by a swinging arm or quadrant.
