Abstract

248,374. Soc. Anon. des Pneumatiques Dunlop. Feb. 27, 1925, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Repair devices. - Tyre tubes or other rubber articles are repaired by patches having the junction face formed of rubber containing a rapid vulcanizing accelerator but no sulphur; or a layer of such material is applied to the patch or the article to be repaired (or to both) before the patch is applied. The sulphur for effecting vulcanization is provided in all cases bv the patch or the article to be repaired. A suitable accelerator solution consists of 90 parts of raw rubber, 6 parts of zinc oxide, and 4 parts of isopropylxanthate of zinc or like active accelerator, this mixture being dissolved in 6 parts of benzene. The junction-rubber mixture may consist of 82 parts of rubber, 5 parts of zinc oxide, 3 parts of accelerator, and 10 parts of red antimony free from sulphur. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which rubber solution containing free sulphur is applied to the article to be repaired. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
