Abstract
248,306. Heath & Sons, Ltd., S., Tongue, A., and Mason. A. E. Jan. 7, 1926. Holders.-In lamps of the kind wherein the bulb-holder 5 is slidably mounted in relation to the reflector 2, the contacts 16 are fixed in a plate 12 which is pressed up to the bulb by springs 14. The socket 5 is fixed on a plate 8 adapted to slide along guides 29 for focusing, adjustment being effected by a screw 26 which is prevented from moving longitudinally by a flange 27 engaging a groove in its head. The plate 12 and the springs 14 are mounted on pins 9 which are slidable in bushes in the front plate 8. so that when the electric leads 23a are threaded into eyes 22 in the pins they are clamped therein by the pressure of the springs. Conducting plates 19 connect the pins 9 to the contacts 16, and the pins are preferably arranged near the edges of the plates so as to accommodate the nut 24 of the adjusting-screw 26 between them.
