Abstract

A wooden top 1 is attached to the top of a wheelie bin 7 so that it engages 4 with the bins lid 6. The bins lid should lift in response to the top being lifted. The top preferably has two handles 2 for ease of lifting. The top may include drainage outlets. The top allows a wheelie bin to be used as a table, shelf or similar in the yard or garden. The top may be used on 1201, 2401 or 3601 bins. The top may be weatherproofed and be substantially recyclable. The top can reduce smell and deters insects.

Description

Multipurpose Wooden Top for a Wheelie Bin, This invention is ideal for many uses and 99% green as most of it is exterior weatherproof wood with an alloy metal angled bracket.

This invention has many uses and can make the wheelie bin look more attractive and give it a new purpose to just putting rubbish in it Wheelie bins take up a lot of in people's space in yards or gardens so the invention was to make the best of the space they take up.

Most people have three wheelie bins which is good for recycling but they can also have a dual purpose in helping the environment as well The idea of this invention is to have something simple that can be put on and taken of so easily and still quite sturdy.

It also lifts the plastic lid on the wheelie bin which is done by a metal angled bracket which is incorporated in the invention.

This saves you taking it off when you want to put refuse in the bin and has a sturdy wooden handle on the front of it.

The uses are many for different people.

Bird feeding station for different types of wild birds as this is made to with gaps to take off excessive rainwater.

Barbeque table to put drinks on.

Putting flowerpots or garden figures on.

Putting seedlings on in a tray Garden workspace.

The invention works as follows when you put it on a wheelie bin it has two handles which makes it easier to manoeuvre and for lifting it off and on also leaving the plastic manoeuvring handles clear for moving the wheelie bin, this invention can be used for l2Olitre, 240 litre and 36Olitre wheelie bins it can also be used as most people have three household wheelie bins with different types of tops and different handles as the principle is the same and it was designed for that, also it contains the smell and also deters flies and insects.

You can also put the three bins with the wooden top on side by side as they do that quite easily as they are all the same size and fit alongside each other as long as it is the same type of wheelie bin and that will give you a large top area to use.

You lift it using the two handles and placing the front part on first then lower the back part with the slots in which sits over the wheelie bin lid plastic hinges and this lines it up then you push the front and then the angled metal bracket slides under the plastic wheelie bin lid which enables you to lift the lid which is secured in place by the angled metal bracket and by using the front handle you can lift it up also the lid as well which enables you put refuse in without taking the multipurpose wooden top off.

To take it off you hold the two handles and lift the back one up so it is clear of the lids plastic hinges then you move it forward and lift it off and the wheelie bin can be emptied by the refuse collectors.

The multipurpose wooden top reference 1 it fits onto the top of the wheelie bin and is made up of 2 sturdy handles reference 2 one at the front and one at the rear which is used for putting it on and for taking it off and for lifting the lid up and a slotted rear panel reference 3 which has slots in to fit on the wheelie bin hinges to line it up and with gaps in to let the rainwater out.
