Abstract

The invention relates to a groyne made from tyre bales. The tyre bales 3 are formed from 80 used car tyres in four rows and compressed to form a bale. The compressed bale may be held together with stainless steel wire which passes through the centre of the tyres. Anchor ropes 4 may pass through the bales to hold them in position. At the end of the groyne a tee shaped hot dipped galvanized anchor 2 may be driven into the sea bed and to which are fixed rings, to which the anchor ropes are secured. As the tyre bales are placed they may be filled with sand or sediment to add extra ballast. At intervals bulk liquid containers (IBC's) 1 contained in a galvanized cage may be filled with ballast and used as anchors. The anchor ropes may also pass through the bulk liquid containers to hold the tyre bales in place. Galvanized steel mesh 5 may be fitted on top of the groyne to facilitate fishing or allow boats to be moored.

Description

Groyne made with Tyre Bales
Description
The Groyne will be prefabricated with tyre bales from our patent applied for Baler.
The bales are made with 80 used car tyres in four rows compressed to form a bale.
The bales measure 2m long X 1.2m high X I.2m wide approximately compressed And are held together with stainless steel wire bracing unlike normal tyre bales our bales have holes through the centre of the tyres to enable the anchor ropes to pass.
At each end of the Groyne a Tee shape hot dipped galvanized anchor will be driven into the beach or sea bed.
Fixed to the Tee shaped anchors will be two rings with our own designed one way rope grip to allow bale fixing by anchor ropes.
Our tyre bales will be positioned between the Tee shaped anchors and fixed in position with two ropes passing through the centre of the tyre bales.
At the same time as the bales are placed they will be filled with sand or beach sediment to add extra ballast.
At intervals along the Groyne IBCs filled with ballast will be fitted between the bales the anchor ropes will pass through these.
Where it will be necessary to walk on the top of the Groyne to facilitate fishing or boat mooring the Groyne will be covered with galvanized steel mesh.
Our Groyne design will be Tee shaped and constructed over a between tide period.
The Groyne building material will be delivered by barge ready to be positioned. Claim
