Abstract
A tool 1 which helps anglers construct and/or adjust hair rigs. The tool includes a main body and a movable collar 6. Measuring means 2, for measuring lengths of hair on the hair rig are provided. The tool is designed to holds various sizes of fishing hooks via jaws 3 or aperture 4. The tool is adjusted by moving the collar up and down the body to desired measurement. Means are provided for holding the loop of the hair rig.
Description
Rigmaster.
This invention relates to a device for creating hair rigs for anglers. Hair rigs are one of the main methods for presenting bait in modern angling. It presents the bait to the fish whilst keeping the hook point clear of the bait.
The hair rigs which are purchased ready made' sometimes need adjusting to suit the users bait i.e. The Hair' maybe too long or short, the hook length maybe the same too long or short.
The use of the invention offers a variety of advantages from those which are ready made'.
it holds the hook to make it easier to create the hair rig.
It measures the length of the hair, so precise placement of the bait is ensured.
When the hair rig is conipJete it can have heat shrink tubing attached to the shank of the hook, and be shrunk without burning fingers.
People with difficulties in holding small hooks will benefit from the invetion.
if the hook is accidentliy dropped whilst making the hair rig, it could easily be lost, if it is in the invention it is easily found.
The invention holds various sizes of fishing hooks.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1: Shows the invention in its entirety.
Figure 2: Shows the end section of the retaining jaws.
Figure 3: Shows the invention holding a larger hook.
Figure 4: Shows the invention holding a smaller hook.
In figure 1, it shows the invention in its entirety, and includes unit 1, the main body with measurements 2. Member 3 is the grips for holding a fishing hook securely, which is screwed into Nol. Number 4 is a hole for holding larger hooks, which also pass through a hole in number 3. When numbers I and 3 are tightened together, member number 5 closes the jaws on number 3. Number 6 slides up and down number 1 to the desired measurement. From number 2 and also holds the loop on the hair.
In figure 2 it shows the end section of the jaws which is number 3 in figure 1.
Figure 3 shows the invention holding a larger sized fishing hook, which demonstrates the hair rig, number 7 is a slot in number 5 to hold smaller fishing hooks.
Figure 4 shows the invention holding a small sized fishing hook, with hair rig attached. 2.
Claims (3)
