Abstract

An adjustable handle for attachment to the front of a stroller (pram, pushchair etc.) is provided, said handle allowing a user to push the stroller in the opposite direction to when the conventional handles are being used. The adjustable handle comprises a pair of struts A which are clamped (see figure 2) to forward frame members of the stroller and which have hand grips at their ends remote from the stroller. The angle at which the struts are attached may be altered (figure 4), and said struts may also be telescopic so that their length is adjustable (figure 3). A supporting cross-bar (N, figure 5) may be pivotally located between the two struts, said struts being made of aluminium or plastics material.

Description

The EASY WALKER
DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
NOTES: 01 2 Adjustable Handle Attachments for changing the direction in which a pram/pushchair is driven.
02 Adjustable Handle Attachments that are attached to the front face of a pram / pushchair so that the operator can push the pram I pushchair in the opposite direction.
03 1 Adjustable Handle Attachment fixed to each side of the front face of the pram / pushchair. A support bar from one strut of the handle to the other will be a variant.
04 The Handles' height / length can be adjusted The angle of The Handles could be adjusted 06 By the attachment of the Adjustable Handles the occupant is front-facing the driver with the motion of movement coming from the front.
12 Figure 1 a and lb shows the Adjustable Handle Attachments fitted either side of a pram. The Height Adjustable Strut (Shown as A) is attached to a joint at B. Joint B may be a mechanism that will allow an angle adjustment of Strut A. If this variant of the design is not followed, the base design is for Strut A and E2 to be one single height adjustable strut. In both variants, Joint B will allow strut El to swing up and down, thus providing greater flexibility for The Easy Walker to attach itself better to the pram frame. In this base design, Strut A will not be fixed to Joint B but rather will pass through Joint B and will be allowed to move up and down freely to allow a better fitting of The Handles to the pram frame. This is illustrated in Figure lc.
13 Figure 2a and 2b shows The Handles with the affixing clamp. The drawing illustrates the base design. A variant of this design is to use a spring loaded clamp, based on a quick lock / quick release utility clamp mechanism. This variant will make use of the bolt (shown as K in Fig 2a and 2b) to allow flexible up/down swivel movement of the clamp and may also feature the rubber lining (shown as F in fig 2a and 2b).
14 Figure 3 shows the Adjustable Handle Attachments with the varying length function. The mechanism to adjust the height will conventional adjusting means, such as those employed in walking frames, and will be spring loaded. The operator will choose and lock into position the desired length.
Figure 4 shows the Adjustable Handle Attachments with the varying angle adjustment.
16 Figure 5a shows the Supporting Cross Bar. The bar is fixed on the Left Strut allowing it to swing across and attach itself to the Right Strut. The supporting bar is extendable. It has a telescopic function such that any pram width can be accommodated. The support bar provides greater rigidity for the Easy Walker construction. It simply clicks/locks into place onto the right strut.
