Abstract

A sliding toaster comprises a toaster body 1, a graded temperature system 2, a control panel 3, a channel 5 for receiving a sliding plate 4 upon which is fitted a metal base plate 6. The metal base plate is provided with a grill 7 through which breadcrumbs may drop. A further invention relates to a toaster having a body that comprises two opposing side walls, a top wall joining the side walls, openings at the base and at either end of the body, wherein at least one heating element is mounted on the body within the enclosed volume.

Description

SLIDING TOASTER
The present invention relates to a sliding toaster. The invention shall be used for toasting bread, but it is totally different from the current toasters in terms of mechanism, composition and usage.
Known toasters work by means of putting slices of bread in holes in the top of a closed body and taking the toasted slices from the toaster when these holes move upwards.
Viewed from one aspect, the present invention provides a sliding toaster which comprises a toaster body, sliding plate, channel, metal base plate and grill.
Viewed from a further aspect, the present invention provides a sliding toaster which comprises: a toaster body; and a sliding plate for receiving an item to be toasted; wherein the toaster body comprises two opposed side walls, and a top wall joining the side walls wherein the side walls and top wall form an elongate section with an opening at each end and a base opening, the end openings being substantially perpendicular to the side walls, the base opening opposed to the top wall, the elongate section defining an enclosed volume; wherein at least one heating element is mounted on the toaster body in the enclosed volume wherein a channel is located in each side wall; and wherein the sliding plate is engageable with the channels to slide into the enclosed volume of the toaster body to allow the item to be toasted by the at least one heating element.
The sliding toaster may prevent burning the slices of bread put in the sliding toaster for toasting, ejection of slices of bread from the machine as a result of discharging from the machine after being toasted and the need to clean the device completely which avoiding dirtying the environment.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying figures in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the toaster body of an embodiment of the invention; Figure 2 is a perspective view of the sliding plate; Figure 3 is a perspective view of the metal base plate and grills; Figure 4 is a perspective view of the sliding plate; Figure 5 is a perspective view of the sliding plate with slices of bread put in the plate; Figure 6 is a perspective view of the sliding plate slid into the toaster body; Figure 7 is a perspective view of the control panel on the toaster body; and Figure 8 is a perspective view of the sliding plate with slices of bread put in the slid into the toaster body.
The following parts are referred to in the drawings: 1. Toaster body 2. Graded temperature system 3. Control panel 4. Sliding plate 5. Channel 6. Metal base plate 7. Grill Referring to the drawings, Figures 3, 6 and 7 show a sliding toaster which comprises a toaster body (1), a graded temperature system (2), a control panel (3), a sliding plate (4), a channel (5), a metal base plate (6) and a grill (7).
Referring to Figure 1, toaster body (I) has graded temperature system (2) that toasts bread in different toasting temperatures which will enable to toast the slices of bread in the desired level. The graded temperature system comprises at least one heating element.
Referring to Figure 7, a control panel (3) with a screen that shows grades, temperature adjustment, starting buttons, remaining time, used thermo units and degree which commands the graded temperature system (2)is found outside the toaster body (1).
Referring to Figure 1, two channels (5) facing each other are found in the toaster body (1) to enable the sliding plate (4) slide into the body.
Referring to Figure 6, sliding plate (4) is designed in a way to be slid into and pulled out again from the toaster body (1) easily by fitting into the channel (5).
Referring to Figure 3, the metal base plate (6) fits on top of the sliding plate (4) and has grills (7) for the bread crumbs to fall down on the sliding plate(4) Referring to Figures 4 and 8, slices of bread to be toasted are placed on the sliding plate (4) out of the toaster body (1) and sliding plate is slid into the toaster body (1) by fitting into the channels (5) in the toaster body.
Graded temperature adjustment of the heater which is suitable for toasting bread in different toasting levels from the control panel (3) is made in the desired way and graded temperature system (2) is operated. Used thermo units, degree and remaining time are followed on the screen.
After the bread is toasted sliding plate (4) is taken from the toaster body (1) by sliding it without facing the problems such as burning of the hand during taking the toasted bread from the usual toasters, and problems arising from ejection mechanisms.
No residue or pieces stay in the environment after the toasting process. Cleaning is made extremely easily and the desired hygiene is ensured because unnecessary mechanical accessories, panel and wire surfaces that get dirty in the standard toasters are not found in it.
Crumbs go to the below plate from the grills (7) found in the metal base plate (6). Metal base plate (6) is removed and crumbs on the base are cleaned.
In this way, there is no interference by hand or any other thing as in the prior art toasters, and bread jammed in the body is out of the question because bread to be toasted and toasted bread are put on and taken off from the sliding plate (4) totally out of the toaster body (1). The sliding plate plays an essential role in keeping the sliding toaster clean and ensures hygiene in addition to prevention of accidents and difficulties faced in the current machines.
