Abstract
A mine clearing device, for attaching to a vehicle, comprises a plurality of wheels/rollers g for contacting a hidden explosive device in order to detonate the explosive device. The device may further comprise a plurality of mine detecting devices t.
Description
PRIORITY
Classification: Millitary TREYSER: Mine detecting device. 5 MPH The Treyser is a device to replace foot-soldiers detecting mines when on foot or driving on uncharted and dangerous terrain, when soldiers encounter unseen hazards of improvised explosive device -lED -that could be missed by mine detectors used by foot-soldiers The Treyser is a device that consists of three wheels independant of each other and evenly spaced, flexible enough to move over uneven surfaces and always in contact with the ground.
The main structure is a fixed arm (x) securely attached to the chasis or bumper of the armoured vehicle, extended by arm (y) that pivots on joint (z) that moves anti-clockwise, lifting arm (y) at the same time lifting the arm (w) that consists of three wheels (a) that are attached by arm (h) that pivots on bar (w) that moves clock-wise lifts at the same time as arm (y) releasing explosive force.
Each wheel (a) is fitted with a damper (b) on the arm (h) connecting to bar (w) giving more of a cOntrolled cushioning effect.
When making contact with an lED the arms to the device (y)(h) have a counter effect moving it upwards, so that the explosive impact on the wheels (a) move clockwise sufficiently upwards when the dampers (b) pivots on (p) (c) pivots on (n) lifts sufficiently to let the explosive force pass with little or no effect to armoured vehicle, also the shield (f) gives added protection to the vehicle, deflecting the explosive skywards. The driver or occupants can see the explosion but will not be effected in anyway or destabilise the vehicle.
The Treyser can be fitted with mine detectors (t) (possibly three) in front of vehicle connected to arm (w), pivots on points (j)(l) with rollers (m) fitted on mine detectors (t) able to ride over small obstacles (o) lifting arm (k), to give more flexibility over uneven ground without damaging mine detectors and can be sensitive to soft or compacted terrain. Should wheels (a) go down more than horizontal with ground level triggers an alarm and can spray a dye on the spot indicating a suspect device, should it be a wired or remote controlled.
All this is controlled inside cab giving a high sense of security.
The wheels (a) have a solid rubber band (g) (resistant to explosion) to give a smoother ride.
The supporting arms (x) (y) (w) (h) should be V shaped facing the ground so that any explosive force will shear-off and will not impede and catch the full force of the explosion.
It may be possible for wheels (a) attached to strut (w) to swivel at point (i) possibly 20-30 degree, making it more manoeuvrable.
It may be worth stressing not to exceed speed limit as it could over-ride the lED.
Option: to amend and revise as appropriate. Claim
Claims (4)
1. The object of the device is to prevent foot-soldiers from being fatally and seriously injured from unseen explosive device -TED.
2. Treyser' . Mine detecting unit constructed by external arms (x) (y) to hold wheels and mine seeking detectors (h) that will cushion the full force of TED protecting the occupants inside the armoured vehicle.
3. A mine detector device with respect to claim 2 in which dampers (b) (c) employed to give added protective control against explosive blast and stabilise the whole equipment.
4. (c) can also be a hydrolic/damper device that lifts arm (y) when Treyser not in use.Option -to improve, amend script and drawing as appropriate.
