Abstract

A jig for assembling hair rigs including means to attach the jig to a bank stick. The jig comprises a combination of posts, clamps and sliders to aid anglers in the construction of rigs of different sizes. Measuring means and a hook clamp are provided.

Description

DESCRIP11ON A hair ti9 jig Is used for assembling hair rigs. A hair rig is a piece of fishing line whIch has a small loop at one end known as the hair1 a hook a few millimetres from the hair and a swivel at the other end of the line for the attachment to the main fishing line.
A hair rig is made by hand and Is quite fiddly. A haIr rig jig can make the task much easier as the hook and swivel are held in place leaving both hands free to tie the knots.
HOW TO MAKE A HAIR RIGI
1. TAKE A PIECE OF LINE AND TIE A SMALL LOOP AT ONE END 2. SET HAIR LENGTH BY USING THE HAIR SLIDER (4) AND USING HAIR SLIDER KNOB) 3. SET HOOK LENGTH BY USING THE HOOK LENGTh SLIDER (13) AND HOOK CLAMPING KNOB (12) 4. PLACE A HOOK IN THE HOOK CLAMP (5) AND liGHTEN CLAMPING KNOB (6) 5. PLACE A SWIVEL ONTO SWIVEL PIN (10) THIS CAN BE SECURED WITh A RUBBER BEAD 6. PLACE LINE LOOP INTO HAIR GROOVE (1) OR THE ALTERNATIVE HAIR PIN (2) 7. TIE ON THE HOOK THREADING LINE THROUGH EYE AND MAKING A KNOTLESS KNOT 0. TIE ON THE SWIVEL/LINK LOOP AGAIN USING A KNOTLESS KNOT KEEPING LINE TIGHT 9.   6. 6. Hair rig jig supports hair loop, hook and swivel! link ioop leaving both hands free to assemble the hair rig making it easier to tie the knots
  7. 7. A screw that fits within the base Is for attaching a bank stick so the hair rig jig can be used while fishing
