Abstract

A suitcase comprises at least one extendable or removable support allowing it to be used as a portable wardrobe, clothes display or like clothes hanging apparatus. The suitcase may have a garment hanger formed by two removable retractable poles 'F' [figure 3a] or a single fixed retractable pole 'I' mounted within the suitcase [figure 3b].

Description
1etmetaIe Ie ç(titea4 This invention relates to a device for hanging garments on a rail attached to a suitcase.
The device has been initially made for the use of a sales person to show clients their merchandise in an orderly and well presented manner. However it would also be of wide appeal for a business or holiday traveller who does not want to unpack...but wants clothes to be hung and presented with ease to see on arrival at their destination.
The current market offers cases with hanging areas (2) but to my knowledge no case offers a retractable rail so that the clothes can be spread out and viewed with ease. In order to maximise the hanging space narrow hangers of no more than 2cm diameter must be used. (They can be plastic or wire) The case will hold up to 15 hangers. The case looks and is the same size as a conventional suitcase (1). The back handle on the case pulls out and is used as a pulley (as a conventional case) (1+2). The case unzips down the sides and opens upwards so the top of the case clips back onto the pulley handle (2). All garments on hangers are clipped back onto an indented metal or plastic pole (this same pole is the initial section of the retractable pole in diagram 3a) in the centre top of the case (2).
There are now 2 options Option 1 (3a) Two retractable metal poles and a base which are stored down the side pockets of the outer case must be removed before the case is opened. Once the case is opened the first pole is slotted into a plastic loop at the top of the case and the second pole is then fixed at 90' to the first pole and the floor, and then slotted into the base.
The clothes can then be spread across the rail to breath and be selected at ease.
Option 2 (3b) A retractable pole is fixed to the centre front of the case. It would therefore be clipped and unclipped to concertina for the clothes to be spread out. Both the pole and attachment would need to be strong plastic or metal. There are two styling choices for this concertina retractable pole -options 3b -1 + 2.
In addition a second pole could also be added as an option and again stored in the side pocket of the case. This could then be used if the load was too heavy to hold on the free standing rail. (3c) Pockets etc can be added as extras in available spaces. Claim
