Abstract

A rain protecting device comprises a sheet of water-proof material which is supported by two spaced apart rods. The whole device is foldable into a pocket which may be situated at the front of a wearer's body. The rods may be retractable and slide out of the top of the pocket. An outer spring-loaded hoop may open out when the device is removed from the pocket to provide a framed support. The bottom of the pocket may have a drainage plug which can be removed to allow water which builds up in the pocket to be removed.

Description

DESCRIUPTION
BACKGROUtJD The Rain Eliminator Is made of a Clear plastic waterproof sheeting supported by two support rods that protrude from the rucksack front pocket housing the Rain Eliminator, made of Cordra fabric, folded into the front pocket. The two rods fold upwards when set up and folds into itself when put away. The Rain Eliminator has dorsal vents which are slits put into the plastic waterproof sheet set into the front and back in order to enable strong winds to escape. The dorsal hole has another piece of cover overlapping the slit so rain cannot get though the plastic waterproof sheet.
ADVANTAGES
When in use the Rain Eliminator is self supporting and allows the wearer hands free protection from the rain allowing them manual manipulation. i.e. pushchair, refuse collection, shopping traffic warden etc. The Clear plastic sheet allows the wearer visibility.
The rain eliminator has a waterproof lining. When the rain eliminator is put into the front pocket it does not leek. The front pocket has a plug at the bottom of it. The excess water is drained at the user's convenience into a sink or bath.
Rain Eliminator The waterproof sheet is made of clear plastic to enable the user visibility, the rucksack is made of mould resistant fabric e.g. Cordra fabric.
This invention relates to a device that covers the head and shoulders of the user to protect from rain, when open the rain is held back by a waterproof sheet supported by two retractable rods protruding from a rucksack. The support rods slide out of the top front pocket for use and slides back into itself (one rod being bigger than the other one) when put away.
The drainage plug in the pocket is opened to release the water into a sink or bath.(Figure 6) The drainage grooves are set into the back fin so water can run into the end drainage (Figure 4) Three stretcher grooves fold out in a triangular shape to support the rain eliminator when removed from the front pocket. (figureS) Outer spring loaded hoop opens out when the rain eliminator is removed from the front pocket offering a framed support (figure 5) The dorsal cover is a cloth covering the open slit to prevent rain entering the waterproof sheet. End drainage lets water flow away from the rain eliminator (Figure 3). 3.)
