Abstract

245,572. Honor, J. E. S. E., and Honor, C. W. H. June 19, 1925. Two-part couplings of the kind having a roller 2 through holes in which the finger like contacts of the detachable plug member are passed, the roller and plug then being rotated till the finger contacts engage fixed contacts, are provided with means which lock the device in this position till it is released by depression of a button 13. A spring then rotates the roller 2 and plug contacts out of engagement. Preferably the plug member, Fig. 2, has two finger contacts 10 and on earthing contact in the form of a spring-pressed plunger 11 provided with a shouldered end 12 and the press button head 13. When the plug member has been inserted into the roller 2 and is rotated from the position shown in Fig. 3 the shoulders 12 slide along a curved member 8 till they slip into recesses 9 thus looking the roller against return and also preventing the plug from being withdrawn.
