Abstract
Demountable weatherproof cover for out-door rotary clothes drier to protect clothes from the outdoor elements, whilst allowing out-door air to circulate naturally around the clothes to aid drying. Adaptable to most types of drier, can be easily mounted and demounted on to frame. The drawings show a prototype mounted onto a 3-arm rotary drier. Drawing references Figs 1-4 inclusive clearly show the components of the rotary drier cover

Rotary Drier Cover -Description
This invention relates to a demountable weatherproof cover for a 3-arm and 4-arm rotary clothes drier which includes a top cover which is fixed to the outermost line on each side of the drier. The vertical drapes are permanently bonded to the underside of the top cover and are suspended to form the enclosure on three or four sides of the drier.
There are numerous types of rotary drier available including the 3-arm and 4-arm types. These typically adopt the umbrella' mechanism for opening and rotate in windy conditions to assist in drying clothes outdoors However the washing line is exposed to the elements when the drier is open, with clothes fully exposed to the elements. This includes rain, sleet, snow and smoke (from garden fires and barbeques for instance) The object of this invention is to protect the clothes from the elements whilst enabling out-door air to circulate naturally around the clothes to aid drying.
Accordingly the current invention provides a fully demountable top cover fitted to the outside line on each side of the drier using a plastic zip mechanism. The vertical drapes are permanently bonded to the underside of the top cover. Whilst this has been demonstrated on the 3- arm drier, it is also applicable to the 4-armtype adopting similar principles.
The cover is fabricated from a flexible waterproof material such as UPVC or similar with slots in the vertical drapes complete with flaps to prevent ingress of driving rain whilst allowing air to circulate. The bottom of the drapes has fitted counter weights in the form of plastic rods which are inserted into pre-formed slots and permanently sealed during manufacturing :. The vertical edges of the drapes are fitted with plastic press studs at 150mm centres from top to bottom. This enables the three or four drapes to be attached to each other forming the sealed enclosure whilst drying clothes. Velcro strips located on the outer edge of the drapes enable each side to be rolled up temporarily to allow access to the washing on the line.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described, with reference to the accompanying photograph and drawings in which:-Photograph I -shows the complete rotary drier cover mounted on the rotary drier.
