Abstract

The invention relates to a lighting string, which includes conductive wires 2, 3, and several lighting units. The lighting unit includes a Light Emitting Diode, LED die (LED chip), 1, connecting to one of the conductive wire, (22, figure 2) directly and using a metal wire, 11, connecting to the other conductive wire, (32, figure 2) in which the LED dice, the metal wire, and the conductive wires are totally covered or wrapped by a package, 10. Hence, the conductive wires with several lighting units become a novel lighting string having improvement and utilization.

Description

TITLE: Lighting String
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A known lighting string includes at least two conductive wires to connect with several bulb assemblies for a shining decorative effect.
Since the known bulb assembly might be sometime separated from the wires in accident that makes the string out of work. And the bulb assemblies need high energy or power supply that is lack of economic.
A conventional LED is usually provided to replace the known bulb assembly, as shown in Figure 1, which consists of a package (5) in lamp shape, two corresponding electrodes (60), (61), one of the electrodes (60) has an LED dice (I) on top, the LED dice (1) connects to the electrodes (60), (61) with very thin metal wires (30) electrically, the electrodes (60), (61) stretch down and form two pins (62), (63) that passing through the package (5) to connect to the conductive wires respectively.
Based on the structure described above, if these known LED's are connected together as a Christmas LED light string, manufacturers have to solder one pin of each of a plurality known LED's to conductive wire of positive power, and then solder other pin to negative power, the procedure is very tedious and cost is relative high that effects market competition.
Moreover, the package, electrodes and pins are all external to the conductive wires, the whole size is relatively large, installation is not easy; light from the known LED's only emits from top of the package, that limits the luminance, the outlook is not attractive, all of these causes troublesome to users.
SUMMARY OF THE INVETNTON
It is therefore a primary object of the invention to provide an LED lighting string that is smaller in physical size, easy to manufacture at lower cost, also has pantoscopic emission, waterproof and bendable characters. Now, accompanying with the following drawings, the character of the present invention will be described here and after.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a conventional LED.
Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view showing parts of a lighting string according to the present invention.
Figure 3 is an assembled perspective view of Figure 2 showing the lighting string according to the present invention.
Figure 4 is a cross-sectional plan view of Figure 3.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring to Figure 2-4, a lighting string according to the present invention includes two conductive wires (2), (3), both of which are cut at interval in getting rid of parts of isolated skins (21), (31) to expose metal planes (22), (32). An LED dice (1) is placed on the metal plane (22) of the wire (2), for example in this embodiment. A metal wire (11) has its two ends connect correspondingly to the LED dice (1) and the metal plane (32) of the other conductive wire (3). A package (5) covers the metal planes (22), (32), the dice (1), and the metal wire (11) to form an isolated lighting unit (10).
In use, there are several lighting units (10) on the conductive wires (2), (3), which becomes a lighting string with many lighting spots as a conventional one. Further, the present invention applies package to wrap and cormect LED dice, metal wires and conductive wires together to effectively reduce the physical size with waterproof character. And this makes the structure of the present invention be stronger and is bendable at different angle and winding without damage. The present invention does not need to solder pins as prior art and can be manufactured in production line for lower manufacturing cost. The LED dices in the present invention emit light out around the package for pantoscbpic emission and the light will be brighter and more beautiful.
While a preferred embodiment of the invention has been shown and described in detail, it will be readily understood and appreciated that numerous omissions, changes and additions may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. That is the about mentioned embodiment is only exemplary and is not to limit the scope of the invention. Any modification with the same merit, such in Figure 5 showing a lighting string having three (or more) conductive wires connecting with the lighting units (10), will be still claimed in the present invention.
