Abstract
A suitable size/shape mould is filled with a mixture of solvent free and clear epoxy resin and coloured aggregate. The mixture may be stirred and then allowed to harden to produce moulded product which has a transparent surface, through which the coated aggregate is smooth and clearly visible. The aggregate will be set tightly within the resin with no gaps and will appear as a block of whichever colour aggregate is used. The hardened product may be buffed and polished. The product can have awide range of uses but will be particularly useful for surfaces such as floors, walls and work-surfaces.

I Start the process with a clean and level mould. (fig 1) 2 Fill the mould to a level of approximately three quarters with a clear liquid solvent free epoxy resin.
(fig 2) 3 The chosen coloured aggregate or coloured glass is then inserted to the highest level of surface of the mould. The mixture of resin and aggregate/glass is then stirred until it is well blended and coated throughout. This is then left to harden at a suitable room temperature (approximately 3 hours). When the resin has fully hardened the product is carefully removed from the mould. The product is then left for a further 24 hours to fully cure. (fig 3) 4 The hardened compound may be buffed and polished and will produce a very attractive looking colour aggregate/glass through a transparent resin surface.

Claims (1)
- Claims The finished moulded product will be extremely hard wearing andscratch resistant. The product will also have thermal properties because the resin compound will maintain heat for longer than stone or ceramic products and will be particularly suitable to be laid as flooring in high traffic areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and hallways or any other suitable suiface.The finished product will be aesthetically pleasing as the aggregate/glass particles can be chosen by colour and/or size and blended together to create a wide range of shades to suit each persoifs preference. The product can be mixed and matched to suit designs of rooms such as kitchens having co-ordinating or contrasting flooring, splash-backs and work-surfaces etc. The moulded resin/aggregate tiles will have the advantage over a ceramic/marble etc. tile in that they can be laid together tightly and a clear epoxy resin coated over them which will seal the joints without any spaces to create a smooth seamless floor which will be both attractive and hygienic. The finished flooring can be easily maintained by regular cleaning with ordinary liquid detergent, as there will be no grout or gaps between the tiles this will be a more hygienic flooring or surface.
