Abstract

A filtration system comprises a skimmer having at least one suction orifice and a filter. Preferably there is a further filter and at least one of the filters (Filter 1) is incorporated into the skimmer walls, the other being a main filter (Filter 2). There may be several openings in the skimmer walls performing a secondary suction function and leading to the main filter. Preferably a flap is situated close to the at least one suction orifice and controls the flow of water into the system by opening and closing. The degree of opening and closing of the flap may be controlled electronically. Advantageously the filtration system is used to filter swimming pool water, to distribute an anti-bacterial product such as chlorine and to prevent the formation of algae. The filtration system may operate when water levels fall below the line of the skimmer.

Description

TECHNICAL INNOVATION TO MONOBLOC FILTRATION PUMPS
FOR SWIMMING POOL WATER
CREATION OF A NEW SOURCE OF SUPPLY OF WATER TO THE FILTERS
AND MOTOR AND TO THE MOTOR
(DIAGRAM 1) The present invention concerns a technical innovation to the monobloc filtration pumps for the filtration of swimming pool water [I]. This present innovation provides a system of security to guarantee the continuity of the filtration of swimming pool water and the dispersal of anti-bacterial products; it supplies the motor with water for cooling when the level of water in the pool drops below the line of the skimmpr5 [2] due to natural evaporation or to a leakage of water from the pool. Without the replenishment of water (due to a lack of attention or to the absence of the ownncr) the filtration no longer operates and the motor overheats and/or disconnects; the dispersal of chlorine stored in the pro-filter basket [3] or of any other anti-bacterial product becomes absent from the pool; there follows a formation of algae and an accumulation of bacteria, creating a health hwiiwd in the pool The invention also enables the regulation of the water pressure affecting the filters [4] either by decreasing or increasing the power of absorption or outflow of the motor, or by the introduction of a control flap [5] on the opening [6] (when the pressure of water is too great, the particles pass through the filters; when the pressure is too low, the pool water is not sufficiently agitated to dislodge all the particles from the pool). This opening and closing flap situated close to the suction orifice or orifices can be activated manually by progressive degrees to lower or close the water suction orifice.
The degree of opening or closing of the aperture can also be controlled electronically inposlionwththeaidofacell[7ofthelthbe for a more refined filtration.
A supply of water to the motor can also be created by an opening in the water vacuum tube [8]; in this location, the cooling of the motor occurs but filtration no longer occurs unless an additional filter [9] is incorporated into the system with the reverse water flow connected to the large reverse flow tube. This device according to the invention enables these inconveniences to be remedied.
INNOVATION TO SKIMMER DESIGN FOR THE IMPROVED FILTRATION OF
SWIMMING POOL WATER
(DIAGRAM 2) The innovation consists of a skimmer whose height is greater than its width and which is placed vertically in the water or in the wail of a swimming pool and which can contain a filter [I] incorporated into the walls [A,B,C,D] of the skimmer and the creation of one or several openings [2] in the skimmer walls that perform a secondary suction fimction, leading to the main suction (filter 2) and the introduction of a flap to control the flow of water to the main suction point, in order to prolong the secure functioning of the filtration system when the level of water in the pool falls

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIM
(Diagram 1) 1) Device according to claim 6 whereby the orifice (or several orifices) is placed under the line of the skimmcrs [21 enabling the filtration system to obtain a supply of water in order to continue functioning and thus to maintain the security of operation of the pump and its attendant parts in the circumstance where the water level falls below the line of the skinmiers.
  2. 2) Device according to claimS whereby the aperture regulating the water pressure can be adjusted manually or electronically to decrease or increase the entry of water into the filter chambeis.
  3. 3) Device according to claim 3 whereby the skimmer height (A) is greater than the skimmer width (B) in order to prolong the thne during which the filtration sytem continues to operate when the level of swimming pool water falls.
    3) Device according to claim 7, being a cell recording the mass of the particles to be filtered and the pressure of water passing into the components of the system.
    4) Device according to claimS whereby a connection for the suction of water is created in the vacuum tube.
    CLAIM
(Dm 2) 1) Device according to claim 1 whereby the filter forms part of the wall of the skimmer.
    2) Device according to claim 2 whereby the openings in the walls of the skimmer that containing the filter perform a secondaiy suction function, by sucking water into the cavity of the skimmer.
