Abstract
An overhead power line catcher 5 is placed alongside overhead power lines 6 to catch the power lines 6 if they fall from their supports 2. The catcher 5 may be attached to a supporting crossarm 1 of a pylon.

<p>Description 1 FIG 1</p>
<p>Shows the application of the conductor catcher (unit 5) in its position on the crossarm(unit 1) The conductor catcher is attached to crossarm via the nut/thread of the spindle (unit 3) via the hole in the conductor catcher.</p>
<p>The unit (unit 4) is tightened up underneath the crossarm via the nut with conductor catcher in place.</p>
<p>In normal situations the conductor (unit 6) will sit on top of the high voltage insulator (unit 2) but in the event of the conductor leaving the high voltage insulator with conductor catcher in place the conductor in the fallen position (unit) will fall into the conductor catcher and not hang in mid air floating around.</p>

<p>This shows a typical set up of a high voltage pole (unit 8) with a crossarm (unit 9) showing all 3 high voltage insulators (unit 10) applied to the overhead structure.</p>

Claims (1)
- <p>Claims The conductor catcher (unit 5) is attached to the crossarm (unit1) in the event of the conductor in the normal position (unit 6) leaving the high voltage insulator (unit 2) and falling into conductor catcher showing the falling conductor unit (unit 7) to prevent the conductor falling lower than the conductor catcher which would decrease the clearance of conductor from ground to normal height clearances and would prevent any human/animal coming into contact with a fallen/floating conductor.</p><p>This is also for case where conductor catcher should be fitted by roadsides/tracks/railways to prevent transport coming into contact with fallen/floating high voltage conductor.</p>
