Diving toys. - In a Cartesian diving figure, the bubble of air is enclosed in a flexible body within the figure. This body may be a separate hollow ball, or part of the figure b such as the head c may be provided with a flexible member d which allows the air to be compressed. The air receptacle may be in the form of a hat for the figure, having two flexible membranes. In the form shown in Fig 5, a tube h with a hole covered by a membrane i extends through the body, which serves as the air receptacle. Instead of the water having access to the interior of the figure, the figure may be made partially or wholly flexible to allow compression. The figure may be weighted with lead. The container a may be of the type described in Specification 241,848.
