Abstract
The present invention provides a micro-electromechanical system (10) comprising an electrostatically controlled micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) device (26) having a first plate and a second plate separated by a deflection distance based on a variable capacitance, a charge storage device (22) configured to store a charge amount, and a switch circuit (18). The switch circuit is configured to control the variable capacitance of the MEMS device by sharing the charge amount between the charge storage device and the MEMS device to equalize the charge storage device and the MEMS device to a same voltage.
