Abstract

An anti-skid stabilising attachment device 1 for a motorised or non-motorised two wheeled vehicle, such as a motorcycle, scooter or bicycle, has a pair of wheels 3 mounted on an axle (6, fig 17) and attached to a box-like steel cage (16, fig 17). The device is attached to the vehicle in a position behind its rear wheel by means of a towing hitch 4 mounted above the rear wheel of the vehicle and to suspension plates (7, fig 20) mounted at both sides of the vehicle's rear wheel hub. Shock absorbers 5 located between the two wheel mounts and the stabilising attachment device permit the rider to lean the motorcycle or bicycle to a limited degree when turning. The sides and floor of the steel frame may be provided with a plastic or fibreglass outer casing, forming a box-like container with a lockable lid for the storage of items. Indicators and lights may be provided on the casing for use at night. Use of the device prevents the vehicle from slipping sideways in wintry conditions.

Description

Motorbike, Scooter or Cycle Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment
Motorbike Scooter or Cycle Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment This invention relates to a device that enables a motor biker, scooter user or cyclist to ride safely during slippery, icy or snowy conditions.

The most dangerous time for motor biker, scooter users and cyclist is during wintery conditions such as ice, snow and other slipper road surfaces. This devise provides an additional wheel at either side of the rear wheel preventing the motorbike, scooter or cycle from slipping sideways from under the user.

However, in most cases there is no reliable system for a rider to safely use their transport during the aforementioned conditions. The "Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment" is quick and easy to attach, is less bulky than a sidecar and more ridged than a trailer. So ridged that it can allow a full size motorbike to stand freely without a conventional stand but also gives slightly for help when going round corners. Each make and model of motorbike, scooter or cycle would have "The Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment" adjusted to fit correctly and allow the wheels at the rear to turn on their own axis. The plans here in contain a heavy-duty version for a motorbike but the same principles apply to a scooter or cycle but the construction would be much lighter.

The "Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment" consists of a fibreglass or plastic box construction which can be customised by the owner with a lockable lid that lifts up for access to it's inside that can carry small items encased round a steel frame that has an axel with two wheels, suspension and a hitch for connecting to a two wheeled motorbike, scooter or cycle which is motorised or un-motorised and can carry one or two persons along the road or path freely without said persons touching the floor and this box type construction known here hence as Big Boot when attached to aforementioned motorbike, scooter or cycle and ridden by passengers can prevent it from skidding or slipping sideways from under passengers thus keeping the passengers safe from having an accident and is intended for winter use during adverse weather condition such as ice and snow it also allows the motorbike, scooter or cycle to stand in an upright position when not in use without a stand due to the hitch and suspension of the Big Boot although it is intended for safe winter riding it can also be used in other seasons as a luggage boot for carrying personal belongings the Big Boot also has indicators and lights for night time use.

The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the Big Boot (Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment) wheels in relation to an attached motorbike.

Figure 2 shows anal view of the Big Boot (Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment) wheels in relation to an attached motorbike.

Figure 4 shows rear view of the Big Boot (Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment) wheels in relation to an attached motorbike.

Figure 5,6, 7 and 8 show the Big Boot (Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment) same as 1 to 4 but with outer casing of box on.

Figure 9, 10, 11 and 12 shows the Big Boot (Motorbike Winter Anti Skid Safety Attachment) standing alone with position of shock absorbers.
