Abstract
242,965. Metropolitan-Vickers Elec trical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Wensley, R. J.). Nov. 15, 1924, [Convention date]. Contact - making relays.-In a lightcurrent relay of the telephone type, the contacts 30, 31 on the springs 6 and 7 are separated by the energization of the upper electromagnet, which attracts the L-shaped armature 11, turning it clockwise to raise the spring 6 by means of projections 12. At the same time an L-shaped latching lever 16 pivoted at the other end of the frame is allowed to drop forward till its upper end comes under the raised end of the armature 11, thus keeping this in its operated position. To restore the contacting position of 30, 31 the lower electromagnet is energized when its armature 23 turns and moves the latch 16 counterclockwise allowing the armature 11 to fall away under the influence of the spring 6 when its electromagnet is deenergized. De-energization of the lower electromagnet allows the armature 23 to take up its initial inoperative position.
