Glossing and glazing.-In machines for drying fabrics in which the fabric passes around intergeared drying drums a - - g, friction rollers or endless blankets i, j are disposed adjacent a number of the drums at the delivery end of the machine and act on the fabric as it passes over the drums. The blankets are brought into contact with the fabric to work up the pattern and impart lustre to the fabric. The tension of the blankets is adjusted by jockey rollers and they are arranged in frames g movable towards the drums c - - f with which they cooperate. The friction rollers or blankets may be driven at any desired speed relative to that of the fabric, and the drums c - - f may be driven by the fabric. Heated polished stationary rolls u, v, and means s, t for supplying finishing material such as wax, oil, &c. may be provided. The friction rollers or blankets may be arranged to travel to and fro across the fabric.
