Abstract

242,533. Hodge, W. B. May 5, 1925. Forced ventilation; air. humidifying.-Comprises an annular frame 5 hung from rods 7 and supporting a spider 8 carrying an electric fan, the air current from which is divided by the wall 29 of a duct into a confined current passing downwards through the duct and a freely flowing current outside the duct. The confined current is moistened by a spray nozzle 28 and is discharged through the space between a pan 15 and a gutter 19 directing excess water to a pipe 16 so as to mingle with the faster moving external current directed transversely thereto by a flared skirt 32. A baffle 20 removes large drops and the apparatus may be cleaned by telescoping the lower part 30 on the upper part 29 of the duct. The pan 15 and gutter 19 are connected by spacers 18 and the pipe 16 is protected by a strainer 17.
