Abstract

The device has a handle and a head with a T-shaped recess 2 shaped to hold a drawing pin prior to insertion. A slight taper 4 facilitates extraction of a pin. A cavity 1 capable of holding approximately fifty drawing pins may be provided in the handle, preferably with a removable clear plastic lid. Upon use of the device to insert a drawing pin, the pin may only be inserted approximately halfway to enable easy removal of the pin. A further device has a spring-loaded plunger with a magnetised tip 5 for holding the pin in position prior to insertion. The outer casing has two slots 6 so that dowels inserted through the plunger protrude through the slots 6 to guide and limit movement of the plunger, which may have a transparent handle with a cavity to accommodate drawing pins.

Description

Description
Version 1, Figure 1. This invention relates to a device for the insertion, and removal of drawing pins. The device will be found to be extremely useful when for example, putting up Christmas decorations, in some cases pressing in drawing pins with the thumb can be found to be almost impossible! Especially into surfaces such as artexed ceilings etc. With this invention it is very easy, the pin in simply placed into the tee shaped recess on the front of the device and pressed in using the power of the whole hand as opposed to using just the thumb.
It is designed so that the pin will only go in approximately halfway; this has the advantage of making the pins easy to remove either by hand or by using the device.
Version 2, Figure 2. This is the plunger type device with the tip of the plunger being magnetized for the purpose of holding the pin in position prior to insertion. The plunger is spring-loaded, the outer casing has two slots with dowels, which are inserted in the plunger and protrude each side of the casing for guidance and to determine the travel of the plunger.
To insert the pin you simply place it in the head of the device and squeeze the plunger!

    accommodate approximately fifty drawing pins this could have a removable clear plastic cap that enables the pins to be seen inside 2 The pin press which can be made from plastic has a recess made in the shape of the drawing pin itself into which the drawing pin is placed for insertion 3 The pin press figure 2 has a spring loaded plunger with a magnetized tip it has slots in the outer casing with a dowel inserted through the plunger and protruding each side of the casing
