Abstract
A half sock which covers the toes to provide comfort under footwear. Preferably the socks are unseen when worn with mules or sling back shoes. The socks may have an adjustable clear plastic strap with a clasp and may be made from a combination of cotton, plastic and elasticated materials. The socks provide comfort without spoiling the visual appearance of the footwear.
Description
SECRET SocKs are pleased to announce the introduction of a unique new
product concept to the field of footwear. Called Secret Socks, the concept calls for the manufacture and distribution of a specially designed line of socks for use with heel-less footwear.
Secret Socks would be configured as shown in the accompanying illustration. The socks are intended for use with the popular open-back "mule" style of shoes that are worn by both women and men. The open-back design of this type of footwear makes them inappropriate for use with conventional socks that cover the entire foot. Consequently, they are typically worn without any socks at all.
However, the front of the foot that is placed into the shoes can then become uncomfortable as a result of the friction and heat that can be produced as one moves about. To correct this shortcoming, Secret Socks would consist of a specially designed sock-like garment, fabricated from cotton, that would only coer the front area of the wearer's foot. This arrangement would protect the part of the user's foot that is inserted into the shoe but would still leave her or his heels exposed. The modified socks would also feature an adjustable strap that would be placed around the heel to ensure they remain securely in place.
Secret Socks delivers clear benefits in terms of comfort and will have considerable appeal to a substantial market. These specially designed socks would enable the user to wear open-backed footwear without having to either suffer the discomfort caused by wearing shoes without socks or detracting from the visual appeal of this popular type of footwear. While wearing conventional socks corrects any discomfort problems, it is generally considered inappropriate from a fashion standpoint to wear socks with open- backed shoes. th Secret Socks, however, a person wishing to wear mules would be able to enjoy the comfort provided by these specially designed socks while not appearing to have a poor fashion sense. 2.
