Abstract
A recycling unit comprises 3 bins 1, a pedestal, base 2 and lid 3 to facilitate the separation of waste material. Preferably the bins are different lengths and may be fastened to the pedestal. The lid may be hinged and lockable with 3 apertures (4, Fig 1) to allow the waste to enter the bins. The apertures may have internal sheathing to prevent tampering and removal of the collected items and prevent unwanted material being deposited in the bins. The unit may be installed/fixed into the ground by concrete or a suitable fixture.

TITLE RECYCLING UNIT
DESCRIPTIONS
Background:
This invention relates to a unit to be used for recycling waste materials such as glass, plastics and metals, found in a public environment.
Detailed description:
The invention is made up of separate parts that constitute the unit. The parts are as follows; bins of different length (x 3), base, pedestal and lockable lid (hinged).
Statement of invention:
To overcome this challenge the present invention consists of 3 bins to facilitate separate collection of these materials for the purpose of recycling/reuse. Materials such as glass and plastic bottles and metal/tin cans are collected in each bin. The lid is unlocked/locked to allow for servicing.
The bins mentioned above are fixed to the pedestal by a suitable fastening mechanism, with a base and lid with appropriate sized apertures to receive such materials. The apertures are lined with a suitable sheathing to prevent removal and/or unwanted material being deposited in them. This forms the recycling unit as standalone unit. This is serviced by a liner (plastic bag/bin) for provision of disposal and renewal of collected materials. The lid is lockable by way of an appropriate lock mechanism that secures the lid in place. The unit can be installed/fixed in the ground by concrete and/or suitable fixture.
Advantages: The use and operation of the unit will facilitate the recycling and reuse of materials such as glass, plastic and tin/metal, as a standalone unit to be Installed at an appropriate location.
This unit is for recycling material such as glass and plastic bottles and metal/tin cans found at source in urban/public environments. The invention consists of three bins (1) fastened to a pedestal, with a base (2) and a lockable lid (3). The lid has three sheathed apertures (4) to receive the recyclable materials. :
