Abstract
A garment hanger suspension means comprises two hooks 1,2, one positioned above the other with the lower hook 1 intended to engage a hanging rail and the upper hook 2 intended to engage a washing line, wherein the lower hook includes a spring-type mousing element 4 which closes the hook to prevent it from being removed from the rail, and the upper hook 2 is disposed above the lower hook 1 creating between the hooks a narrow opening 3 through which a washing line may be passed, the opening 3 being sized to prevent the hanger from being easily removed from the line.
Description
Garment Hanger The invention relates to a garment hanger of the type which
includes a hook, two arms and sometimes a support joining the two arms. These commonly used well known hangers tend to fall down easily when hanging from a rail when touched or knocked, particularly when trying to remove or replace other hangers next to or around them, even more easily when hanging from a clothes line, as one picks up a garment or hanger from the line there is an almost automatic up and down springing of the line sending virtually any other hanger still left on it flying in all directions and falling down.
An object of the invention is to provide a garment hanger with a STAY ON HOOK which will allow the hanger to remain on a rail or clothes line when knocked or moved about while at the same time being just as easy and convenient to replace, move or remove as a hanger with a normal standard hook.
Accordingly, this invention provides a garment hanger including a hook with a spring positioned along the open side of the hook by fixing the lower end of the spring to the neck of the hanger at the lower end of the hook opening, with the rest of the spring standing flexible infront of the hook opening, used as a stopping device making it difficult for the hanger to come off the rail and fall down when touched, knocked or moved about, and a second STAY ON HOOK above the named hook creating an opening between the two hooks, narrow at one point allowing a clothes line to just fit in and slide to the top end of the opening, thus securing the hanger from the upper hook and stopping it from falling down from the clothes line while moved or shaken in any direction.
Preferably the garment hanger with a stay on hook is made of plastic material, metal or wood but may instead be made of a combination of these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure I shows the front view plan of the whole garment hanger with the stay on hook.
Figure 2 shows a cross section of the U shaped contour of the garment hanger with stay on hook.
Figure 3 shows a cross section of the reinforcement units inside the U shaped contour of the garment hanger with the stay on hook.
As shown in figure 1 the garment hanger with a stay on hook comprises a lower hook 1 and an upper hook 2 having by the opening side of the lower hook I a SPRING 4 with its lower end fixed at the bottom end of the lower hook 1 opening, the rest of the spring standing all along the lower hook 1 opening, stopping the hanger from coming off the rail and falling down, the upper hook 2 above the lower hook 1 creates an opening 3 between the two hooks which allows a clothes line to just fit in and slide to the end of the opening, securing the hanger by the upper hook and stopping it from coming off the line and falling down when knocked, the clothes line springs up and down or moves in any direction, the arms 5 have a catch 7, the arms are joined together by a support 10.
Figure 2 shows a cross section of the U shaped contour cavity 8 of the garment hanger.
Figure 3 shows a cross section of the reinforced units 9 inside the U shaped contour cavity 8.
Claims (3)
- Ceding 1 a garment hanger STAY ON HOOK including a SPRING standing allalong the open side of such hook with the spring's lower end fixed at and just below the bottom end of the hook opening about the neck of the hanger so when hanging from a rail it will stop the hanger from coming off the rail and falling down when touched or knocked, and a SECOND HOOK above the forenamed hook creating between the two hooks an OPENING which at one point it narrows allowing a clothes line to just fit in and slide to the top end of the opening. Thus securing the hanger to the line by the upper hook and stop it from falling down when the line springs up and down or moves in any direction.
- 2 A garment hanger STAY ON HOOK as claimed in Claim 1 where a spring fixed at one end and standing all along the opening side of the hook is used as a stopping device when hanging from a wall hook or a clothes line.
- 3 A garment hanger STAY ON HOOK as claimed in Claim 1 where the OPENING between the two hooks can be used to secure the hanger by the upper hook to a wall hook.
