Abstract
240,617. Stephenson, J. E. Sept. 2, 1924. Pulley-blocks.-A suspended gallows block for trawling is connected with the gallows by a dumbbell shaped member G with two spherical or like ends seated in two-part conical bushes in the head of the pulley frame and in a plate F bolted to a casting secured to the gallows. The frame of the pulley comprises two side members A, A' thickened at the top at a, a<1> and bolted together over the lower end of the member G which is small enough to pass downwards through the plate F before the bushes are inserted. The spindle of the pulley or trunnions formed on the pulley pass through large holes or through slots in the frame members A, A<1> and are journaled in eccentrically bored caps D, D<1>, or, as shown, in eccentrically bored bushes d<1>, d<2> in the caps. The bushes or the caps are replaced when worn. Plates K, K<1>, secured to the frame A, A<1>, prevent the warp binding between the sheave and the frame.
