Abstract

240,578. Stewart, I. July 15, 1924. Ointments.-A complexion cream is composed of precipitated chalk, glycerine, rosewater, spermaceti, sweet almond oil and a perfume. In the method of manufacture described, 3 oz. of precipitated chalk, 4¢ oz. of glycerine, and one oz. of concentrated rosewater are mixed and allowed to stand for twenty-four hours. The mixture is then warmed on a water-bath and 1/3 of an ounce of melted spermaceti added while stirring. The mixture is removed from the bath and stirred till almost cold, one oz. of sweet almond oil being added in small quantities. When cold, a small teaspoonful of concentrated rosewater is added, and the mixture again stirred. Five drops of oil of jasmine are then added.
