Abstract

A nail collector 1 which fixes to the front of the nail cutter allowing for the nail clippings to be collected. All clippings will fall to the bottom chamber 3. The device may have a flap 5, which may be opened by gently pressing a tab 4, thus allowing the device to be emptied.. The collector is made of plastic and is transparent.

Description

DESCRIPTION: NAIL COLLECTOR
The invention relates to the personal hygiene of nail cutting where the nails can be collected during the cueing phase and emptied at a later stage.
There are many nail clippers on the market but serve a disadvantage in that they do not collect the nails once they are cut or do not collect at all. l he individual has to find alternative means of disposing the nail clippings.
l he Objective of the invention is to provide a means to collect and empty the nails once cut. Therefore saving time and energies.
This invention provides a plastic shroud, which can be fixed to the end of the nail clipper; the opening of the shroud should be wider enough for the average person's thumbnail to be inserted. The invention can have a flap mechanism allowing the nails to be emptied or no flap mechanism as the nail cutter can be shaken allowing the nails to fall out. The plastic shroud can, in addition, be cleaned by a fine brush or flushed with water by removing the shroud from the nail cutter. :' .
The nail collector plastic shroud should be made out of a transparent clear flexible but durable plastic allowing the customer to see his nail properly being inserted into the nail collector shroud. The plastic will not allow the light to be reflected or refracted. - A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIGURE 1 Shows a side view of the invention fixed to a nail cutter with a flap mechanism to open and close.
FIGURE 2 Shows a side view of the invention fixed to a nail cutter with out the flap mechanism.
FlOURE 3 Shows a side view of the plastic shroud.
FIGURE 4 Shows a front view of the plastic shroud.
As shown in figure 1, the plastic shroud (1) is fixed over the front ofthe nail cutter allowing easy access for a fingernail to be inserted and be visible (2). Once the nail is cut, it will drop to the bottom chamber (3). Once all nails have been cut, then the flap can be opened by gently pressing the tab (4) at the bottom. The flap opens (5) and the nail cutter can be turned vertically allowing the nail clippings to drop.
As shown in figure 2, the plastic shroud is fixed (1) over the front of the nail cutter allowing easy access for a fingernail to be inserted and be visible (2). Once the nail is cut, it will drop to the bottom chamber (3). Once all nails have been cut, then the nail cutter can be turned vertically allowing the nail clippings to drop through the face of the plastic shroud.
As shown in figure 3, the plastic shroud can be easily removed from the nail cutter by gently manoeuvring the shroud of the front of the nail cutter. The shroud can be inserted back over the nail cutter by gently forcing it over the front.
