Abstract

240,390. Jenkins, F. T. May 28, 1925. Vehicle-axle bearings for colliery corves &c. A bearing pad b may be removed from the bearing housing a without displacing the latter from the underframe of the vehicle, and the axle strap d fits flush in one side face of the bearing. As shown, the bearing pad b is retained in the housing a by the side edges b<3> which rest on correspondingly shaped parts in the housing. The axle strap d is accommodated in grooves b<1>, b<2> in the block b and is secured in position by a key e passing through lugs f cast, on the housing a. The bearing block b can be removed by inserting a punch through a hole c and when wear occurs the edges b<3> are machined up.
