Abstract
240,112. Hodd, G. W. July 29, 1925. Eye-shields. - The eye-shade or screen described in Specification 233,480 is provided with additional or auxiliary means for protecting or screening the eyes, such auxiliary means being constructed to be readily detachable. An auxiliary screen f of opaque or tinted material is bent approximately to a double U-form, and is applied to the hinged eye-shade a with one edge in contact with the underside of the shade a, and so that it is substantially vertical when in use. Depending portions h of the screen f screen the eyes from approaching lights and direct vision is obtained by out away portions i. The screen f is secured to the shade a by metal strips k at the ends and a spring wire l of V-form at the centre. The screen f is passed between the strips k and the shade a, and the spring wire l is secured at p, p to the shade, the free ends r engaging holes s in the screen f. Modifications in the positions of the depending portions h may be made to shield against rain or snow and the glare of the sun, also dust and flies.
