The displacement control for a hydraulic vehicle comprising a hydraulic displacement motor (13) and a transmission (14) comprises a gear ratio control (16) for the transmission. There are vehicle speed detection means (31) and a control device (30) which sends a gear change down signal to the gear change control when the vehicle speed is detected is almost stopped.
