Scoring and marking apparatus. -The billiard-marking board described in the parent Specification is modified by the provision of mechanism whereby the indicating discs or rings are actuated by hand-operated press buttons. As shown, a hand-operated press button B, situated at the end of travel of one of the sliding pointers, is connected through a rod C' and bell-crank lever C to a slidable member N' adapted to engage and rotate a toothed wheel W<1> fixed to the twenties disc M'. At every fifth movement of the disc M', a stud J on the disc engages a cam surface J<3> on a member N, depressing the member against the action of a spring R and causing it to engage and rotate a toothed wheel attached to the hundreds disc M. A thousands rings M<3> mounted on rollers E<1> is disposed around the disc M spaced studs S<3>, A lever A is connected by hinges A<4> to a turn-table pivoted on a pedestal E. The lever A normally projects between two of the studs S<3>, as shown in broken lines, in which position it is adapted to be engaged by a stud S on the disc M, once. in every revolution of that disc, and thereby rotated to the position shown in full lines. In rotating, the lever engages one of the studs S<3> and rotates the ring M<3>, a projection A<3> on the lever preventing overthrow. When the stud S reaches position S', the lever returns to its original position under the action of a spring T, a bevelled portion Z formed on the underside of the lever allowing it to ride over the stud S<3>, and a spring L<3> causing it to drop into position. A pawl P' is provided to prevent backward rotation of the ring. In a modification, the spring T m replaced by a spring T1@ which acts on a lever L engaging two lugs L<2> on the lever A, and tends to maintain that lever in its normal position. A ring K<3> connected to the member N may be provided for zeroizing purposes.
