Abstract

The tool, which is used to apply hair cream relaxer to African hair, is made up of a syringe-like tube which has a series of teeth welded to the end of it and arranged in four rows. The action of a plunger at one end causes relaxer from the tube to be dispensed to the teeth at the other end. The tool is inserted at the base of the hair and combed upwards applying the chemical to the whole length of the hair. The cream is only released through the middle row of teeth which have slits formed in them, the outer rows of teeth preventing the cream from touching and harming the scalp. This arrangement of teeth is also important in the treatment of new hair growth, which can be achieved without the chemical treatment touching the already relaxed hair and causing it to be damaged.

Description

AFRO HAIR RE-TOUCHING TOOL
This invention allows hair cream relaxer to be applied to African hair. In order for African hair to be styled it has to be chemically altered.
This means applying a chemical cream called a relaxer applied to it. Traditional way of applying the cream is with a gloved hand.
You have to be careful that the cream does not touch the base of the head as it would burn the scalp.
The invention is a syringe like tube. The inner rod is pulled out and the tube is filled with the relaxer cream. The rod is then put in and pushed to squeeze out the cream through the teeth comb like structure into the hair. The teeth structure is welded on top of the tube. There are four rows of teeth of which the middle two have slits where the cream comes out. The bottom teeth have no slits and they prevent the cream from touching the scalp. You simply insert the gadget filled with relaxer cream, push the rod in, and the cream will come out, then comb upward to cover the whole hair.
The gadget is most useful when it comes to relaxing the new growth of hair. Unfortunately relaxing the hair does make it tend to break as the hair has been weakened. The new growth of hair tends to be rougher and stronger than the already relaxed hair, but the new growth must be relaxed in order to be able to comb the whole hair. This means that the already relaxed hair will break and the whole hair tends to look thin and makes it impossible for those with afro hair to have long hair. What is needed is a means of applying the relaxer to the hair without touching the already relaxed hair. The top teeth have no slits either. Provided the new growth is at least 10 millimetre long, you insert the gadget into the hair and the top teeth prevents the relaxer cream from reaching the already relaxed hair.
Fig 1 shows the gadget with the teeth like structure.
fig 2 shows the tube with the inner block removed so that relaxer cream can be put into it.

Claims (1)

  1. The teeth comb like structure with two row of slits in the middle on top of the tube enables the relaxer cream to be applied without burning the scalp or touching the already relaxed hair.
