Abstract

238,740. Hardman, W. Oct. 24, 1924. Openers etc.; feeding openers &c.-In a beater or cleaner for cotton or waste the driven beater shaft 2 carries a worm 6 which drives a shaft 8 carrying a bevelgear 10 meshing with a bevelgear 11 on a stub-shaft 12. A gear on the shaft 12 meshes with a superimposed gear 14 on the feed-roll shaft 15. A gear 19 on the other end of the shaft 15 meshes with a gear 20 on the shaft 21 of the roller driving the feed-lattice 23. A gear 26 on this shaft drives a gear 27 on the shaft of a toothed roller 29 situated above the end of the feedlattice and the feed-roll. A belt 31 on the beater shaft 2 drives a countershaft 33 from which are driven the mixer and the hopper feeder of the arrangement described in Specification 238,739 by belts 35 and 37 respectively.
