Abstract
A bracket 1 for mounting a head rail 5 has a cam lever 2 rotated on pivot 3 to move a finger 6 into engagement with a groove 8 on the head rail. The bracket may be mounted to the side of the window by screws 4 or to the top of the window (figure 4). There may be a hook 7 at the distal end of the bracket to engage groove 9 in the head rail.

SUPPORT FOR HEADRAIL
The invention relates to a support bracket for head rails as used for Venetian blinds or roller blinds. Such supports are well known, but suffer from the following. The type with a screw holding the head rail requires a screwdriver to fit or remove the head rail. The type with a spring mechanism will clip into position, but can also unclip if pulled downwards with enough weight. The object of this invention is to make fitting and removing the head rail easy without tools, but still securing the head rail firmly.
Accordingly the present invention provides a support in the form of a bracket, which can be secured by screws to a wall or window frame through the holes provided. The bracket has a cam lever which swivels on a pivot to allow easy fitting or removal of the head rail.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example by reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows the support bracket with the cam lever in the open position and fixing screw holes to the rear.
FIGURE 2 shows the support bracket with the cam lever in the closed position.
FIGURE 3 shows the support bracket with the head rail secured.
FIGURE 4 shows another embodiment of the invention with fixing screw holes through the top of the bracket.
Referring to the drawing the support bracket 1 with cam lever 2 in the open position, as shown in Figure 1 with fixing holes 4 to the rear.
In order to secure the head rail 5 groove 9 of the head rail is hooked onto finger 7 of the support bracket 1. Cam lever 2 is rotated on pivot 3 until it reaches the side of the support bracket 1. Finger 6 will have rotated into groove 8 thus securing the head rail 5, as shown in Figure 3.
In order to remove the head rail 5 cam lever 2 is rotated on pivot 3 away from the side of bracket 1, thus moving finger 6 out of groove 8 allowing the head rail 5 to be removed.
Claims (5)

2. A bracket having a cam lever which rotates on a pivot to allow easy fitting or removal of the head rail.
3. A support bracket as in Claim 1, but with holes in the top allowing fixing to a
. ceiling
4. A support bracket as claimed in any proceeding claim which is made from metal, plastics material, or wood, or from a combination of these materials.
5. A support bracket substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
