238,667. Titford, H. E., and Vandome, Titford, & Co., Ltd. July 9, 1924. Indicating mechanism.-A weighing machine is provided with an independent tare indicator adjustable by hand over the dial to indicate the weight of an empty receptacle and comprising an annulus member divided by a diametrical member whereby the movements of the indicating pointer past the annulus member may be observed. In using the device an empty recepts,cle is placed on the weighing machine and the tare indicator is set by means of a handle d so that the arm a, a<1> carrying the annulus e lies directly over the indicating pointer b. The receptacle is now filled and the weight of the contents is ascertained by observing the extent of movement of the pointer beyond the tare indicator. The annulus e is preferably painted one colour, such as black, and the ends of the pointer and tare arm another, such as red. Specification 8112/86 is referred to.
