Abstract

238,022. Pierpoint, R. G. Mav 21, 1924. Pickers. - A picker is made from buffalo or other hide of L shape, in one or two pieces. The vertical strip of hide A is first folded along two longitudinal lines, and then bent about its middle, and the horizontal strip A' is then bent around or into the legs so as to lock them together. Several methods of locking the legs together are shown in Figs. 5 and 6, 24, 29, and 33. When the hide is in two parts, these are folded separately as shown in Figs. 10 and 11, 16 and 17, and then slid endways into locking engagement. The picker is held together by a staple C and is pressed into its finished shape. The pickers shown in Figs. 4, 5, and 6, 16 and 17, 24, and 33 have no seam on one face. In some cases a small extra piece of hide B, Fig. 6, may be used.
