Abstract

The stabilizing ballast, such as water, is supplied to a flexible rubber-moulded container that may be shaped to an internal free space of the washing machine. A mains water supply is pumped into the container and then into a washing drum prior to a wash cycle. The water may subsequently be drained from the container upon completion of the wash cycle or the water may be retained for subsequent use. The washing machine pump is used to provide the required filling and draining of the container.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Description Washins Machine Ballast Weights This application applies to the use of water as temporary ballast for the location of any washing machine in any container shape or material.
For example, the ballast could be contained in a flexible rubber moulding shaped to the inside free space of said washing machine.
The rubber container would be empty at all normal times outside the washing cycle. Upon commencement of operation, the machine will firstly fill the rubber ballast container with water, and would then fill the machine-washing chamber with water. Upon completion of the washing cycle, the washing machine pump, would continue on until it had drained the rubber ballast chamber. The machine would then be light enough for the housewife to manoeuvre on her own.
The machine would contain the option to retain the water ballast for stability purposes during the non-washing period, if required by the owner.

Claims (1)

  1. Claims. Purpose of application. The purpose of this application is to facilitate the easy movement of domestic and industrial washing machines. The current system of using heavy weights (usually concrete) affixed to the inside of the machine is cumbersome and labour-intensive. This application will eliminate the need for any on-site assembly involving ballast or weights for said machines. This application utilises the existing washing machine pump and plumbing in order to automate the whole process.
