Abstract

A rotary cut lawnmower cutting chamber complete with a rotary cutter 3. The cutting chamber is provided with at least two exit ducts 4,5 allowing the use of more than one cut grass clipping collecting box for use on the lawnmower to which the cutting chamber is mounted.

IMPROVEMENTS TO ROTARY CUT LAWNMOWERS This invention relates to rotary cut lawnmowers.
Rotary cut lawnmowers are well known devices wherein a circular cutting chamber houses a rotating blade or blades to cut the grass which grass when cut exits the cutting chamber via a duct and thence to the atmosphere or to be contained by a grass clipping collection box.
Under certain circumstances multiple exit ducts from the cutting chamber would be an advantage for instance when more than one grass clipping collection box is to be used, where the direction of the lawnmower in use might be changed and/or when the quantity of grass required to be discharged or collected will be of a high volume.
According to the present invention there is provided a circular cutting chamber wherein resides a rotary cutter. At the circumference of the cutting chamber there exist multiple exit ducts.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of an example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Fig 1 is an illustrative "transparent"perspective.
In the drawing only those elements essential to the operation of the present invention are illustrated, handles, wiring, power sources and control gear have been deleted for clarity.
Referring to the drawing Fig 1 the multiple exit cutting chamber comprises a cylindrical wall 1. integral with a circular cover 2. and a rotating blade 3. Positioned at the circumference of the cutting chamber are exit ducts 4 and 5 through which ducts 4 and 5 exit streams of cut grass 6 and 7 when the rotating blade 3 is in motion.

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A cut grass rotary mower cutting chamber wherein there resides at least two exit ducts for cut grass.
  2. 2. A cut grass rotary mower cutting chamber as claimed in claim 1 wherein there reside more than two exit ducts for cut grass.
  3. 3. A cut grass rotary mower cutting chamber as claimed in claim 1 and 2 when used with two or more grass clipping collection boxes.
