Abstract

A hook assembly for a vehicle seat has a rigid cross piece (1) which has a plurality of slots through which pass the uprights of the headrest (5) of the vehicle seat (6), and one or more straps (2), with hooks (3) being fixed to the end of each strap (2). The straps (2) and hooks (3) may hang down the front or rear of the car seat (6), and the hooks (3) can be used for hanging bags from.

Description

BAG HOOK This invention relates to a bag hook.
The problem with shopping bags is, when you put them on a car seat or in the boot of a car, they are unstable and can lose their contents when the car is in motion.
The present invention provides a hook assembly comprising a rigid crosspiece that fits onto the headrest uprights of a car seat. From the crosspiece, one or more straps are attached and hang down the front or rear of the car seat, a hook is fitted at the end of each strap onto which a bag can hang.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of an example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the bag hook in position on the seat of the car.
Figure 2 shows three different lengths of bag hook.
Referring to Figure 1, the bag hook assembly comprises a rigid crosspiece I and one or more straps 2 at the end of which hangs a hook 3 onto which a bag will hang. The crosspiece fits onto the headrest uprights 5. The straps hang down the front or rear of the car seat 6.
The straps are adjustable to allow the hooks to be positioned at different heights. The connection 4 of the strap to the crosspiece allows the strap to be flipped over allowing each hook to hang down either side of the seat 6 without the need to turn the whole fitting around. Different lengths of crosspiece provide different numbers of hooks as shown in figure 2.

Claims (4)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A hook assembly comprising a rigid cross piece that fits onto the headrest uprights of a car seat. From the cross piece, one or more straps are attached to hang down the front or rear of the car seat, a hook is fitted at the end of each strap.
  2. 2. A hook as claimed in Claim I wherein the hook is attached by means of adjustable straps for positioning at different heights.
  3. 3. A hook as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the strap is reversible for positioning to the front or rear of a car seat.
  4. 4. A hook substantially as described herein with reference to Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.
