Abstract
A flood protection system comprising a fixed U-shaped frame 2 permanently attached to a building into which removable boards 1 can be located for flood protection. The removable boards 1 may have flexible seal 10 along there lower edge and ends. A flexible seal may also be provided within the channel 2 to provide a waterproof seal to boards. To hold the boards securely in place, shores 8 and wedges 9 may be used. The protection system may also be used for ventilators or vents, in which case the flexible seal may be held watertight by external pressure on bolts or screws.
Description

The essence of this method is its portability lightweight and easily fitted. Dispensing with sand bags.
The only permanent features are the U brackets and threaded plugs which are fixed to door facing 4 or door posts 5 window sides or walls 17 when fitting ventilator barriers 1.
Simply slip the barrier 1 into bracket 2 set shores 8 and wedges 9 in position and set tight till rubber seal 10 is under pressure.
Bathroom silicon or similar on bracket sides and sills 16 & 7 before installation will ensure watertight integrity
U Bracket 2 can be continuous for piggybag method when two or more barriers are required..
The ventilator 13 system simply bolts 15 on when required, tighten up on rubber seal 10 with silicon applied before installation.
Void 6 filled with sponge rubber or polystyrene packing.
Flood preventor easily adapted to anti-burglar device by masking door locks and window catches
