Abstract
A side support leg 1 for a scooter is folded towards the front of the scooter when it is moved into an out of use position. The end of the leg 1 is thus less likely to be hit inadvertently by a user's foot.
Description
2362624 TITLE: SIDE KICKSTAND FOR A SKATEBOARD CART BACKGROUND OF THE
INVENTION
(a) Field of the Invention:
The present invention relates to side kickstand of a skateboard cart, more particularly to a side kickstand that is configured to be foldable forwardly.
(b) Description of the Prior Art:
A kickstand structure used for skateboard carts is shown in Fig. 5. It mainly includes an inverted-U shaped kickstand (B) provided at the bottom portion of a cart kame (A) of the skateboard cart, so that the cart can stand on the ground in a stable manner by means of the kickstand (B). However, in this conventional kickstand structure, the two ends of the kickstand (B) are supported on the ground at two points. When parking the cart, the rider has to press the kickstand (B) with one foot first and pull the cart body simultaneously or lift the skateboard cart to press down the kickstand (B) so that the kickstand 1 is (B) forms supporting points to support the skateboard cart in a stable manner.
However, such a way of parking requires that the two ends of the kickstand (B) can both be supported on a flat ground surface. If the cart is parked on an uneven ground surface, the cart may fall to one side when one of the supporting points is not stable.
In addition, there is another way of parking by means of one-sided support, as shown in Fig. 6. Two cart fi-ames (C) are provided to extend in parallel along the at bottom portion of the skateboard cart. A positioning plate (Cl) is 1 provided flatly at the bottom edge of each of the cart frames (C) for mounting of a side.kickstand (D) against the biasing action of a spring (D1). When parking, it is only necessary to push the side kickstand (D) fbiwardly and downwardly to prop it against the ground obliquely, so that the skateboard cart 5 can be supported on the ground at an angle.
For both of the above-described conventional kickstand structures, each is in general folded to the rear and is pushed forwardly and downwardly when it is to be lowered so as to facilitate pressing thereof by the rider's foot. When the kickstand is folded, the end portion thereof slightly PrOjects from the edge of the skateboard to facilitate the rider to press and push the kickstand with his/her foot. However, since during operation of the skateboard cart the rider has to stand with one foot on the skateboard and push the skateboard cart forward with the other foot on the ground and then stand with both feet on the skateboard, his/her may inadvertently press the end portion of the kickstand that projects from the edge of the skateboard with his/her moving foot when repeating the above actions to drive tht cart along, so that the kickstand turns and is lowered due to the pulling action of the spring (D1), resulting in the kickstand's contact with the ground, which will obstruct the smooth advance of the skateboard cart.
SUMMARY OF THE fl,ON
The main object of the present invention is to provide a side kickstand of a skateboard cart that is foldable forwardly so that it.will not be inadvertently hit 2 and lowered. The structure of the side kickstand includes a securing frame provided at the top portion to be pivotally connectedly in an oblique manner to a side kickstand pulled by a spring such that the pivotal connection of the side kickstand relative to the side kickstand is unidirectional and can be rotated forwardly only. The securing frame is ffixedly connected to the bottom portion of a skateboard of the skateboard cart such that the side kickstand can be folded forwardly at one side of the bottom portion of the skateboard and such that the end portion of the side kickstand projecting from the edge of the skateboard will not be easily hit inadvertently and become lowered, thereby enhancing 10 safety in operation.
3 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF TUF DR A WTNG,1;
The foregoing and other features and advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings, in which, Fig. 1 is a schematic view of the structure of the present invention; Fig. 2 is a perspective assembled view of the present invention; Fig. 3 is a schematic view of the present invention in a folded state; Fig. 4 is a schematic view of the present invention showing the installing position of which is altered; Fig. 5 is a schematic view of the structure of a prior art; and
Fig. 6 is a schematic view of the structure of another prior art.
4 1 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
As shown in Fig. 1, a side kickstand 1 of the present invention is provided on one side of the bottom portion of a skateboard 2 of a skateboard cart. A e 3 of the bottom portion of the skateboard 2 is fixedly connected to a frame seat 4. The frame scat 4 is provided with a securing hole 4 1. The top portion of the side kickstand 1 is pivotally connected to a securing fi-ame 5. The face of the securing fi-ame 5 is obliquely provided with a protruded hook lug 5 1. The edge of the securing fi-ame 5 oblique extends to form a pivot lug 52 having a stop element 521 to be pivotally connected to the side kickstand 1.
The securing fi-ame 5 is provided with a through hole 53. The side kickstand 1 is provided with a fastening ring 11. A spring 6 is provided with the two ends hooking the hook lug 5 1 of the securing fi-ame 5 and the fastening ring 11 of the side kickstand 1. As such, the side kickstand 1 is pivotally connected to the securing frame 5 to permit turning and folding of the side kickstand 1 in a is single and forward direction, and to enable the side kickstand 1 to abut against the stop element 521 of the pivot lug 52 when turning downwardly.
When assembled to the skateboard cart in practice. as shown in Fig. 2, the side kickstand 1 utilizes the securing frame 5 pivotally connected to the top portion thereof to connect to the inner side of the fi-ame seat 4, with a bolt 7 passing through the securing hole 41 and through hole 53 to secure the securing frame 5 and the frame seat 4. As such, as shown in Fig. 3, when the side kickstand 1 is folded, it is turned and f61ded forwardly to abut against the side of the bottom portion of the skateboard 2. In this state, the end portion of the side kickstand 1 projecting from the edge of the skateboard 2 is located near the front end of the skateboard 2 so that the side kickstand 1, is not tikely to be hit against by the rider's moving foot that is in contact with the ground from time to time to push the skateboard cart along, which may result in lowering of the side kickstand to obstruct smooth advance of the skateboard card. The present invention provides excellent safety to the rider, especially when performing stunts.
In addition, the side kickstand 1 illustrated in the above figures is provided 10 on the left side of the skateboard 2 and may be folded forwardly. However, as shown in Fig. 4, if the pivot lug 52 pivotally connected to the side kickstand 1 and the direction of the spring 6 is reversed, the side kickstand 1 can be provided on the right side of the skateboard -2, thereby suiting riders that, habitually use the right or left foot to operate the side kickstand 1.
